Downtown Columbia Recognized as the Safest City in America

Forbes recognizes Downtown Columbia as the Safest City in America based on recent data published by WalletHub. The research reviewed 180 U.S. cities.

“The values on which the visionary city of Columbia was founded over 55 years ago—safety, inclusion and an exceptional quality of life—hold true today under the thoughtful stewardship of Howard Hughes and are among the top attributes that attracted us to Downtown Columbia,” says Rick Kohr, CEO of Evergreen Advisors. The investment bank and corporate advisory firm recently decided to bring its headquarters to Downtown Columbia.

With Lake Kittamaqundi, restaurants like Busboys and Poets, venues like Merriweather Post Pavilion, and a rich history of “inclusiveness, safety and progressivism,” Downtown Columbia is a great place to live, work, and visit.

WalletHub has also consistently ranked Downtown Columbia as #1 Best U.S. City for Jobs, Safest City in America, Happiest City, and Best Place to Live.
