The New I-29N Offramp Makes it Easier to Visit Merriweather District
Getting to downtown Columbia’s Merriweather District just got a whole lot easier, thanks to a newly opened offramp from I-29 North.
Whether you’re visiting Merriweather District for dining, entertainment, or our outdoor activities at the lakefront, the new offramp shortens travel time and makes visiting more convenient. Instead of competing with through-traffic or taking longer routes, visitors can now enjoy more streamlined access to the neighborhood. Plus, the new route is also a game-changer for Merriweather District residents. It’s easier than ever to arrive at the parking garages near Marlow and Juniper.
How to Get to Merriweather District
- Exit on Broken Land Parkway, and take the first right exit
- At the stoplight, you have the choice to go straight, left, or right.
- Turn Left for Mango Tree Road — Symphony Woods garage, Busboys and Poets, Marlow, or Color Burst Park
- Turn Right for Symphony Woods Drive, and you’ll arrive at Little Patuxent Parkway
- Turning right at Little Patuxent Parkway leads to Merriweather District Lakefront and Whole Foods, Lake Kittamaqundi, and the Mall
- Turning left at Little Patuxent Parkway leads to Color Burst Park, Symphony Woods, and Merriweather Post Pavilion
- Go straight on Merriweather Drive to arrive at Color Burst Park, Juniper, and Merriweather Post Pavilion.
Using the New I-29 North Offramp to Get to Merriweather Post Pavilion
For event-goers, the offramp helps separate local traffic from those just passing through, simplifying local congestion when you’re trying to arrive at the most convenient parking zones for Merriweather Post Pavilion and the Chrysalis.
- Exit on Broken Land Parkway, and take the first right exit
- At the stoplight, you have the choice to go straight, left, or right.
- Turn Left onto Mango Tree Road for the Symphony Woods garage behind Busboys and Poets (Lot 3).
- Turn Right for Symphony Woods Drive and South Entrance Road (Lot 5), then turn left at Little Patuxent Parkway which leads to Symphony Woods and Merriweather Post Pavilion
- You can also go straight on Merriweather Drive to surface parking on Divided Sky Lane (Lot 2).
