Downtown Columbia Adds Two New Restaurants to its Dynamic Mix
Downtown Columbia announces two new businesses in Merriweather District: GameOn Bar + Arcade and The Angry Jerk, a Caribbean-Southern fusion restaurant.
Greg Fitchitt, President, Columbia, Howard Hughes shares “We are excited about the dynamic mix of new dining and retail concepts opening in Downtown Columbia over the next year. GameOn Bar + Arcade and The Angry Jerk will be great additions as we work to deliver something for everyone in Downtown Columbia.”
Both eatery concepts will open later this year across the street from Color Burst Park in Juniper, a mixed-use building with 382 apartment units and 57,000 square feet of ground-level retail space. This announcement comes just as Toastique, the much-anticipated gourmet toast and juice bar plans its weekend Grand Opening.
Howard County’s own Casey and Eli Linthicum bring their third GameOn location to Columbia after finding success and popularity in Annapolis and Federal Hill. Downtown Columbia’s 4,000-square-foot space will include retro arcade games, craft cocktails and beers, and specialty menu items such as pizza and wings.
Local chef Jason Miskiri brings unique tropical Caribbean-Southern fusion fare to Downtown Columbia at The Angry Jerk. His original location is in Silver Spring. Menu offerings such as jerk sauce tacos with oxtail, shrimp, or chicken, served at the 2,200-square-foot eatery.
