Merriweather District Artist-in-Residence Alumni Releases New Comic Book
Merriweather District Artist-in-Residence alumni, Ram Devineni, released a new augmented-reality comic book called Jupiter Invincible. The story is set in Maryland during the time of slavery and was inspired and written during his residency at Merriweather District.
The Artist-in-Residence program fosters creative growth for established and emerging artists within Downtown Columbia, an evolving urban center and burgeoning creative hub at the intersection of culture and commerce. The innovative residency program is designed to allow artists to take risks and pursue new projects while receiving support in the form of studio time and space.
